This group was formed to see if a searchable database would be helpful in reuniting lost and found dog with their owners. Messages through March 7,2002 are entered in the database.

NOTICE: The database is only current through March 12, however, the message archives are SEARCHABLE. Tips for searching: Search for the state where lost or found. Ex. New Jersey, also try NJ. Search for the breed or breed mix: Ex. Yorkshire Terrier, Yorkie, Terrier, etc. Search for breeds that your dog might be mistaken for because many people do not recognize the less commonly seen dogs. Ex: A Bermese Mountain Dog may be mistakenly called a Border Collie, Spaniel mix, etc.

The settings have been changed to permit forwarding of messages. AS OF APRIL 10, ALL MESSAGES ARE MODERATED. THE SETTING WAS CHANGED BECAUSE WE WERE GETTING POSTS DUPLICATED TO THIS MESSAGE BOARD.

Occassionally I will try to do searches and post them to the appropriate groups. I encourage others to do the same. Example: You are a rescuer and have found a Shih-Tzu in Florida. Please crosspost to any Florida, Shih-Tzu lists you belong to.
