This rescue resource list is moderated and maintained by the volunteers of the St. John Humane Society in LaPlace, Louisiana.

The goal of this group is for people of southern states to communicate to each other about homeless, neglected and abused animals. It is NOT required to live in the south to join.

The mission here is to rescue un-wanted pets and assist in placing them into the loving homes they deserve and to inform each other regarding animal-related issues such as letter writing campaigns, petitions, news in animal health care, cruelty, legislation, etc.
