Hi Everyone,
Mason Neck Horse Coalition is organizing the annual 4th of July
parade in Lorton and we need your help. Come out and support your
local horse coalition.
The parade is July 4th, 11am – 1pm, staging area is behind the Lorton
Firehouse on Armistead Street, at 10am.
We are looking for:
-A parade organizer (or two)
-Riders to participate in the parade
-Street walkers
-Two people to carry the MNHC banner or someone to drive their
car/truck in the parade
-Clean up crew to follow behind the horses
If you are riding in the parade, we need to know if you have a
trailer or will need to ride with someone. Or if you have a trailer
and are willing to drive horses to the parade.
Miinors must wear a helmet and be accompanied by an adult.
All volunteers (riders, side walkers and helpers) must sign liability
waiver forms, which will be provided the morning of the parade.
We will also need someone to drive the trailer drivers from the
parking lot back to the firehouse where the parade starts.
We encourage everyone participating to wear their red, white or blue
MNHC shirts. If you don't have one, please contact Holly Turner or
myself.
Sign up sheets will be posted at both Jarvis and Meadowood. Or you
can send an email if you'd like to help – cmrducks1@... or
h.a.turner@.... Just include your name, whether you are
riding (and if you have a trailer or not) or volunteering for parade
organizer, side walker, clean up, carry banner, or other help.
Call Kim Cook, 703-314-6265 if you have any questions.
