Hi there,
I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.
This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here: http://News.net4free.org/lebanon/human-buttons.htm
Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:
http://members.fortunecity.co.uk/unhcrlebanon/smile.html
For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.org especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:

Together we will build better world.

Just thought I should pass on my knowledge to all you guys (and gals) on

WARNING ON USE OF LIME. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PASS ON TO WARN OTHER
HORSE OWNERS OF THIS DANGER.
Linda operates the Classicus training facility in Edinburg, VA.
Saturday the 29th of October Linda Bertschinger was cleaning her
stalls. She scooped lime from the barrel it's kept in and when her
job was done, tossed the
coffee can scooper into the barrel as she has done many times before.
Only this time the lime puffed back up into her face and all over
her, burning her eyes
extensively. Twyla rushed Linda to the emergency room where the
doctors told Linda
she had severe corneal Damage and they were not sure of her
prognosis. Linda has
since been going to doctors in Harrisonburg everyday. The good news
is the doctors
have seen new cell regeneration in both eyes so her prognosis is
optimistic.
Needless to say Linda's medical bill is Huge and continues to grow
while Linda is
unable to work. Anyone wishing to help Linda with this financial
challenge can send
or drop off a donation to any Bank of America branch.
Allocate your donation to The Linda Bertschinger Medical Trust Fund
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Jennifer,
The Mason Neck Trail is being built in three phases. Phase 3 which runs from Highpoint Road to Pohick Bay Park is complete. Phase 2 woill run from Pohick to Old Colchester Road. Phase 1 from Old Colchester to Route 1. I don't know if it will ultimately run down to Hallowing Point.
Joe Chudzik has considerable history with this trail and can provide further details.

Is there an Easter Egg roll or hunt going on somewhere? Helen
I talked with Jim Short yesterday on Renni's crossing and some other things

April 15 around 9:30 possibly doing something Monday night before..I told
him I would be there and would pass the word to our people Andie
To James Short:
I talked to Andie Leonard about trying to get volunteers. If someone is
interested should they use this email to notify you and is there also a
phone number they could call.
Please advise.

----- Original Message -----
Hi, Charlie.....forgive me for being late in responding to you, or, forgive me
for repeating myself if I already have replied and just can't remember having
done so! I'm in NC this week taking care of my mother after surgery, so am a
bit confused these days.
I am flattered that you are interested in having me join your new group "Friends
of Meadowood Farm." I boarded there for many years before moving to Helen
Junkins' place, and Meadowood still holds a special place in my heart. I have
missed those trails and woods! And am still friends with the managers and many
of the boarders there.
My question is this: although I am a resident of Fairfax County (Springfield),
I do not live in Mason Neck and no longer board my horse at Meadowood. I do
spend most of my spare time in the area, however. Does that qualify me to be a
member of this group? If so, I would be interested in helping. Because of work
schedule, it is sometimes difficult for me to attend meetings, but I would like
to try. The idea of a group that includes many viewpoints is quite appealing
(environmentalists, naturalists, horse people, etc), and yes, I've known Gary
Knipling for years and I'd enjoy working with him and all of you on this. Being
a member of the Mason Neck Horse Coalition, and seeing those efforts with BLM,
etc, I really do see a need for a coordinated effort, and this sounds like it
might be the answer. (Am I on the right track here?)
Thanks again for thinking of me. I'll look forward to hearing from you and the
new "Friends" group.
Janet Lemke
Janet,
I don't know if the word filtered up to you yet, but we are in the formative stage of setting up a Friends of Meadowood Farm non-profit group to work with BLM.
Gary Knipling and Marilyn Hildebeidel are working with several others in a core group to get it established. Would you be interested in helping us? It will probably involve a fairly substantial amount of time for the first six months to a year, but hopefully will get the Friends group of to a well organized start. We are trying do limit the number of meetings initially and communicating frequently by email, but will eventually have to assemble as things develop and require more discussion. Hope we can draw you in. From talking with Gary, I think you are the kind of person who could add a lot to the group. Right now we are developing our mission statement and objectives for the first year. A draft copy is attached.
Hi, Brian. I was on the Pohick Park trails last weekend and saw signs saying
"no horses" due to wildlife management activities. But it also said "November".
So we rode on the trails. Was this okay? I assumed no one had taken down the
signs.
Janet
