Massachusetts Turtle Rescue, Inc. (MTR) is a registered 501c3 non-profit national organization dedicated to the captive management and survival of all wild populations of turtles and tortoises. While this group will focus mainly on captive care and rehabilitation of all species of turtles and tortoises, MTR is very active in supporting wildlife management. This includes extensive knowledge in rehabilation of injured and sick turtles, whether this arises locally, nationally, or internationally, with highly skilled veterinary care. It also extends to management of wild populations to ensure a future, as well as keeping unrelesable turtles and tortoises both from the US and abroad with breeding programs with the hope of future release.
Don't let the name of this group keep you from joining. Massachusetts Turtle Rescue is one of the oldest nonprofit turtle and tortoise organizations not only on the net, but in adapting to new ideas and doing what matters most: helping turtles and tortoises and those keeping them. We are also a nationally recognized organization that has extended our efforts and work with other countries, primarily South East Asia.

We are one of the few active rescue organization groups on Yahoo that is known for our kindness to every member, regardless of experience, our openeness to new ideas, our willingness to allow off-topic discussion, in that non turtle chat is embraced, and a magnitude of other qualities that brought this group back after a year of being offline.
