This list was originated for the purpose of sharing my experience with those who truly love mastiffs and are concerned with the direction of our breed specific clubs and the antics of self-proclaimed ethical breeders.

I, Sarah Child, entered into a verbal Puppy Back agreement involving the co-ownership of my mastiff bitch with the breeder in July 2003 that resulted in a dispute. Because our agreement was oral, it has now become a case of “he said, she said.” However, the correspondence and documentation between us is written. You be the judge.

Nearly a year and a half of my life has been spent fighting for my legal rights as co-owner of my AKC registered bitch. Among many other things, I have been accused of extortion and have been discredited as a new breeder. The events that have taken place through the Mastiff Club of America have resulted in what I consider to be a blindsiding, character assassination of me. “Witness statements,” submitted on behalf of the co-owner of my bitch for the purpose of her defense confirm she has shared her version of what took place between us with many.

Now it is time I tell my side of the story.
