I am sorry I wasn't online yesterday. I started the list yesterday morning, but by the normal nightly list time I was down with another massive headache. I am really tired of these darn things! Since the headaches are usually manageable earlier in the day, I am going to try to start getting the lists out earlier in an effort not to miss anymore lists. So instead of sending the lists out at 11pm here, I am going to try to get them sent out by 8pm. (hopefully this will work with the kids and hubby's work schedule. lol)
Anyway, here is tonight's list:
Horses in need:
Arkansas:
1. AR: APHA Mares/fillies - sale or trade

Ebony Girl Skip (Abby), 2006 APHA registered black/white tobiano mare, 1 blue
eye. Sire is Skip Paprika Skip RN Dam Im Tuxs Glitzy Girl. Extended pedigree,
still on her papers, includes Rocks Cowcatcher, Wranglin Star, Im
Puttinontheritz, Muleshoe Blue Doc. View her pedigree here http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/ebony+girl+skip
Horses just off her pedigree include Wrangler, Doc Clabber, RW Heaven Bound.
She's broke to lead, loads and has been started on ground work, but still needs
more ground work and desensitizing work. She was purchased for my husband who
is too busy with all the farm chores, his real job and farrier side job to
finish her ground work and break her. She can be sold open or with a breeding
to my APHA black/white splash overo stallion (so far he has thrown 3 colored
fillies out of 3 breedings). Asking $500.
Zippo Skips Leola (Sky), 2008 sorrel overo filly. Handles great, leads, ties,
picks up her feet. Very calm and quiet. She will not be a speed horse but would
make a great all around or pleasure horse. Her grandsire is 1997 Trail and
Western Pleasure ROM with 40 performance points.
Zippo Pine Bar, Skipa Star, Hank-a-Chief, Lookout Jet, Mister J Bar, Mr.
Norfleet in her pedigree. Sire: 14.3hh Dam: 15hh
Reduced for a limited time to $350.
Ratchetts Lil Paragon (APHA pending) (Sapphire), March 2009 black splash overo
filly. 2 blue eyes. Handled since birth, she's a cutie with attitude.
Ratchett (great grandsire), Lil Paragun (grandsire), Paragon, Pacific Bailey,
Mr. Norfleet, Skipper W breeding. This one will be hard for me to part with
since I had planned on keeping her. Sire: 14.3hh Dam: 15hh Asking $1000 (no
trades on this mare, if I don't sell her, I will keep her)
Countess Bar Poco (APHA pending) (Domino), May 2009 sorrel medicine hat filly.
She is mostly white with two sorrel ears, a sorrel spot in the middle of her
forehead and half of her tail is brown. No other spots anywhere. 2 blue eyes.
This filly should have plenty of speed.
The Ole Man, Count Giacomo, Bang-Up 2, Skipper W, Mr. Norfleet breeding. Sire:
14.3hh Dam: 14.2hh Asking $1000.
Would consider trading one or more of these well bred mares for a registered gaited
mare (fox trotter or TWH)

Susan,
we can't take 8 here, sorry. I MAY be able to bring up to 3 mares/fillies here
depending on what they are, conditions, etc. as well as where are they located?
I cant find 'cave rock' on MapQuest.
sorry I know there was a link to photos etc but I don't seem to have that any
longer. could you send that my way again?
if he is willing to give any of them away, you could try posting them on horse.com in their free
thoroughbreds area. I've heard people have had great success with that.

It's $500 for all the horses (8) the fellow that has them has Alzheimer and he
can't afford to keep them. All they get is grass. He is most likely going to
have to go to a nursing home soon. He has no family that will help him, I have
to call him 3-4 times a day to remind him to check the horses water. So far he
has been pretty good about doing that, he has agreed to sell all the horses for
$500. He knows he can't no longer take care of them.
I wish someone can come and get these horses because he is not able to take
care of them.
Kind Regards

Lacy is a
registered 1998 bay AQHA mare. My daughter rode her all through jr high and
high school as a dressage horse. She only showed her a few times so she doesn't
have a show history. She has been ridden on the trails but will only go out
with other horses and is insecure. She requires a patient and confident rider
as she is still very green in areas. She has not been ridden in a few years so
she will need to be brought back into shape slowly. She's up to date on all her
shots. Will need front shoes if being ridden a lot, as she can be tender
footed.
I need to find a great home for her with a kind and loving family. If I don't
find a home for her soon she will have to go into a shelter situation as I am
having serious financial problems.

Scout is a BLM burro jenny, came off the Nevada range in 2001, now 14 years old. She stands about 48" high and is gray. Scout will tie, stand for grooming, shots, fly spray and worming. She will allow us to pick up her feet, but we do tranquilize her for the farrier. Scout is trained to the electric fence, has been turned out with horses as well as another burro, and would make a great pet or guard animal. We're asking $250, but a great home is more important than the money. Up to date on everything, feet just done, just wormed, has all shots including rabies and west nile.

1. Large Morgan pony for sale~NOT sound BUT
beautiful - $150 (Lower Alloways Creek, NJ)
Date: 2009-07-02, 8:29AM EDT
Large pony for sale, mare, jet black, star and snip.
Lameness: On a scale of 1 through 10 I'd say she is a 4. She is off at the walk
but does not seem uncomfortable doing so. She will trot but seems to be
uncomfortable doing so. My son can ride her bareback with a halter and
leadline.
Temperment: Towards humans a 2 or 3. Towards horses a 7, she likes to be top
dog.
Beauty's story: My husband horse passed away, his beloved mustang, so he saw
this Morgan mare at a sale and she was supposedly bred. His second favorite
breed is Morgan so he bought her for the foal, first for the kids to have a
2010 growing and training project, and secondly he would have a new horse that
the family knew since day 1 as his own in a few years. She was put out to
pasture, fed, loved, and spoiled and no one rode her since she was supposed to
drop in a few months. As it turns out, she was never bred as our vet confirmed.
She also must have been drugged since she is definitely off in the left back
leg. She was sound in the ring but now she's not and she has experienced no
trauma on our farm.
Reason for Selling: We do not have the money or interest to invest money in
x-rays, etc. She is an exceptionally beautiful jet black mare and she is well
behaved. She could possibly be used for leadline classes, a back yard pet, a
broodmare. She tends to be the dominant one in the herd. She is used to being
turned out but has good stall manners too. She gets lonely by herself if she is
in a stall, in a pasture she is fine by herself.
Her injury may heal itself in time; we do not know. She is up to date on her
teeth, shots, coggins, and feet.
She also has had an allergic reaction to something according to our vet, he has
recommended aloe to treat it and he said it will work its way out of her system
over time.
She would be a cheap gamble for someone looking for a gorgeous horse. The only
$ we are asking for her is our vet bill money, trust me we are taking a loss
but she is such a good girl, she must be what someone is looking for. She is
sweet and easy to handle. Serious inquiries only, no SPAMMERS. We will report
you ASAP. Please call April @

Salt (Precious) needs a home. She is a 14 yr old mare. Precious has been ridden
here by my girls. She stands 15.2-15.3 hands, dark bay. Very sweet, easy going,
and loves attention. Precious has a cataract in one eye but this does not
prohibit her from being ridden. She does have a hard time around aggressive
horses. Precious is a very easy keeper. A good home is a must as she deserves
it. Adoption fee $300

All help getting them moved is greatly appreciated.

loves attention. She needs a Mustang Experienced home. Rose is broke to ride
but will need a refresher course on her groundwork. Adoption fee $200
Smokey is very flashy 10 yr old mustang gelding. He likes attention. Smokey is
broke to ride, but needs a refresher on his groundwork. He rides very nice and
is a very well put together gelding. His confirmation is perfect for Dressage.
Smokey needs a mustang experienced home. Adoption fee $300
Sweetie, is a very nice mare, well built and very wide. Sweetie needs a very
experienced mustang home. She can be quite the handful. She needs a person who
is not afraid to be strong handed and dominant. If you are not dominant than
she will dominate you. Sweetie does not particularly like women. She prefers
MEN. Sweetie rides very well but again needs a very experienced person.

1. important news: fosters, Chunky, and other news

Times are difficult for all of us. I wouldn't ask for your help, if it
wasn't so important.
Last night, due to an unexpected emergency situation, the woman who was
going to keep Chunky ("Move those Chains"), could not keep him. I got
the
notice yesterday afternoon, so I cancelled my other plans and by 6pm I
picked him up. I have to admit right now I am feeling a bit overwhelmed.
A few months back, Maggie's foster had Equihab pick Maggie up with no
notice, so Maggie had nowhere else to go but here. I still am fostering
Gypsy, taken in when a nice local man lost his job and was about to lose his
home. This means I'm caring for 3 equihab horses plus the two
former-rescue horses of my own to care for. I love helping horses, but
Equihab can't succeed without YOUR help.
Equihab isn't just "me". Equihab is a community non-profit
organization
which helps horse owners & horses in and around our local area. Equihab
relies on sponsors, foster home, adopters, and other supporters to
function.
The horses NEED YOU TODAY!
Fosters are needed to take on one horse for a few months. Who wouldn't want
a rideable horse to enjoy during this nice weather?
One or two responsible people are needed to organize Equihab events for
summer or fall. Without events we can't do education or fundraising.
A publicity volunteer is needed. We need help connecting homes with the
horses. I believe the right homes are out there for these horses -- we
just need to connect with those people.
Ongoing donations to offset the cost of caring for so many horses are also
needed. The horses need feed, spring shots, farrier, etc. Equihab's hay
supplier just informed us last night that we should expect the price of
round-bales to go up 10%+, starting with the first cutting.
Equihab would also love help with its web site, donated trims, donated vet
care, donated hay or supplies, etc.
A yard/tack sale was proposed to raise money, but we need a location & a
few
helpers to hold it. Can you help?
A Board of Directors position is also vacant: looking for a responsible,
impartial adult who is able to give a few hours a month to Board meetings.
Contact us for more info.
Please contact me by phone,
443-466-4087, or by email, may@...
(may @ equihab.com) if
you can be of any help. On behalf of the horses, thank you.
Sincerely,

1. The NEER BIG Mr/MA can not stay at his 'forever' foster home any more... ):
17H, 2000 lbs, mostly dominant (even over mares) but has been getting along with donks and a couple of girlfriends of late. He was used and abused by the Amish for years! ): 20 something, but in great shape. Likes nothing, but respects fencing. NOT for a timid inexperienced person. The BIG Mr knows that he is intimidating and uses it to his advantage, but he does have nice manners. Drives, has the dents, scars and outfolded lips to prove it. Did not like the whole 'riding' thing. He would like a big field with a run in to stand in until his last breath. Not bad with his feet, if you're feeding him, he is barefoot. The BIG Mr is an easy keeper, needs to be on hay and/or hay stretcher ONLY, anything more gives him the trots (no pun). UTD/coggins, etc.
Presently in Groveland MA.

More info:
This boy is in need of a family. He is a big horse that thinks he is small. He has had a tough life and would prefer to be a baby sitter. He can be turned out with mares, donkeys, and doesn’t have any problems with dogs or cats. He is rather timid and needs to have owners who will care for him and not have caretakers. He responds better to one or two handlers and not more. He has not been turned out with any geldings yet, but soon to be tried. His dream is to be loved, and his retirement wishes honored. No work, no saddle no bridle and no driving. Just let him keep your equines company. He is not a dominant horse, just a nervous boy. He forgets that he is as big as he is, he always keeps you with in his sights, but if scared he forgets how big he is.

Nebraska:
1. Urgent update (3 Mar 2009): I do have an update on my landlord's horses. I spoke with him today when he was out and it is not great news. He said that one way or another he will be down to 4 horses this spring. I am guessing that he is planning on taking the 2 mares and 2 colts to auction the next time it is local. I am not sure when that will be. Our area is pretty quiet on horse auctions and usually only holds two pretty large auctions a year...one in the spring and one in the fall. I haven't heard yet when the first one will be. I can't see him taking them too far out. I mentioned that I might consider buying the one mare myself (as she is very attached to my mare) and he said that if I did, I would have to probably start paying him for hay. I have been in contact with a rescue who might be able to take them, but I would have to fundraise the ransom and health certs, etc. for them...that was just for the 2 mares though. The two stud colts will be the hardest to place. The one is very sweet and handling well, but the other is still pretty shy and I have yet to get him haltered. sigh. He did mention that he was considering gelding at least Dusty. Any help for these horses would be greatly appreciated!
I have listed my landlord’s twores on my website. Please note that they have very limited handling. I am reintroducing the halter and will work with them until a good home is found for them. 5 yr old bay roan mare. Approximately 14.2 – 15H. Beautiful face and very willing to please. She is haltering nicely now and is beginning to take tentative steps forward when asked. Not bad considering we are working in the pasture with all the other horses around! Best offer. My landlord also has an older bay roan mare. This mare is very friendly likes people, is halter broke (she is a little nervous at first when you start to put the halter on, but once on she will do anything asked of her), and had a beautiful bay colt last year (she is open this year.) She is not registered. I am not for sure how old she is. Best offer. Update (11 Dec 2008): My landlord has also added the two yearling colts to the list of horses for sale. Denny is a buckskin roan. He is still shy with strangers and is not halter broke at this time. I have been working with him as he originally wouldn’t let anyone come within five feet of him. He loves scratches and to be brushed, but he is still a little nervous with the halter touching him. Dusty is the bay colt (recently gelded) out of Bella. He is an absolute pocket pony and loves attention. He halters well, but can still be a little stubborn about leading. He allows fly masks and will pick up his feet if asked. You can do anything with this boy! He has potential to make someone a very nice gelding! I have lots of pictures if anyone wants to see them! Best offer. Update: 13 Apr 2009: These horses are still available. They are now UTD with deworming, but not vaccs as my landlord doesn't believe in vaccinating horses that don't leave the property. I will try to get more pictures of them on the website soon. Please email me for more info Missys.hope @ gmail.com (remove spaces) Located in Nebraska.

This is very difficult for me to do. Due to a personal problem (divorce) the future of Double G Stable & Farms is in jeopardy. Because the future is so very unclear for me right now I need to think of the horses first. Because I don’t want there to be a last minute panic or wait too long and have the horses suffer I am asking for help now. Please keep this about the horses. I ask that any personal questions you might have remain personal. Just e-mail me and I will do my best to answer. This is a very difficult time for me after 17yrs it was not the situation I expected to find myself.
I need to place as many of the horses here now as I can. I will be going from having my husbands income to not really having much of any. Which makes it hard to care for 13 horses. So here is what we have.
Marigold 32 yr old blind OTTB mare.
Makeda approx 25 yr old Standardbred mare needs a special diet due to dental issues.
Ollie 2yr old TB mare Still has slight heart murmur but it seems to be getting better.
Silver approx 18 yr old POA Blind gelding. He does ride and is very sweet.
George is my blind gelding that is the best riding horse I have ever had. Just ask and he’ll do it.
Victoria 12 yr old appaloosa mare. Broke to ride I used to show her, but she has just been hanging out in the pasture.
Hope 18yr old Arab cross mare. OK for light riding due bad joint in rear leg. Loves kids.
Cherry 25 yrs old QH mare. Very light riding or companion due to old knee injury.
Miss O and Jackjack will stay with Alex
Mini Mow and his momma will most likely go to a friend.
Hannah will return to her previous owner.
Emma is owned by a boarder.

He needs somebody with experience to do his feet, he does NOT want them touched! ):
Solar would need to be retrained to be ridden. He can be stubborn, but you can barely blame him... he is not mean or nasty, very sweet...just hesitant to trust, and he really should just be retired. He loves where he is now, but is not a trail horse, and his fosters want a trail horse.

June 15, 2009
Cynthia has had no leads on Zane ... it is like he is missing in thin air!
NEW PICTURE AND NEW FLYER on his webpage!
Zane vanished in the middle of the night in Clarksville,
Iowa (Butler County),
and his owner has spent countless hours and driven thousands of miles desperately
trying to find him.
Zane is an 11 yr old gelding and 14.2 hh, he was a breeding stallion until recently
and is only halterbroke.
Appears solid grey, but has some flea bit to him - black points include black
up to knees on all four legs. His mane is short and black. His tail is short
and black to white waterfall.
ALSO ... a mare has disappeared from the same area ... could this be related?
Please help her bring Zane home and let Cynthia know that she is not alone! All
emails and offers of encouragement are greatly appreciated!

NetPosse.com Stolen Horse Alerts for Stolen/Missing Horses and more
...
A stolen horse could be a long distance in a short time period. Please
pass this to your associations, list groups, council members, friends and ask
them to do the same. If you put information on your website please link the
info to NetPosse.com. SHI will be updating information and has the only flyer
ready to print and post for those who want to help. The Internet is great
for spreading the word but success stories show that most horse are found from
a flyer. Thank you very much for your generosity in helping these victims. --

This is a very sad commentary on our country and really doesn't speak well of
Secretary Salazar, either!

The BLM has announced it plans to zero out 11 wild horse herds in Nevada. The public
comment deadline is July 6. This article gives information and a sample letter

2. Hello,
I seen you posted equines wanted.
Could you add us to the list?
We are searching for a mule that needs a good home, broke to ride for the grandchildren. Gentle a must.
Age not really important. Will be well loved and cared for with plenty of space to roam.
A donkey is also need as a replacement for an elderly man, he uses his donkeys to plow his and neighbors gardens, one passed on this winter and he is searching for one that is at least semi broke. Age unimportant.
Both are guaranteed to find a forever home, what comes here never leaves, they find a safe haven.
We are in Northwest Alabama. Franklin county.
Thanks in advance.
