Do you think they might be bored?
Do you have lots of interesting things in the cage for them to explore, climb
on, run through etc?
Changing it up a bit every once in awhile, helps keep my mice distracted and
curious.

I've had them since they were babies)

What's funny is that they almsot always sleep cuddled up together in their tube,
but in the evening when they are out and about and eating and everything is when
the "arguments" sometimes start. For the time being though, I'll just continue
to keep and eye on them.

could give me some advice. I have a pair of female African Pygmy mice that are
housed together in a 10 gallon tank. They are about 10 months old. Up until
about 3 or 4 days ago, all was well with them. Then suddenly they started to
have occasional fights and the 1 lost her tail. Everything that I have read
says that Pygmies should always be housed in pairs or colonies and I've never
really had issues with housing any females together.

fighting, or for one to get killed. The other issue is the fact that it would
probably be difficult for me to capture just 1 and put it in a separate tank.
