New England Pet Grooming Professionals NEPGP - The Story of NEPGP, in the 1970's a group of animal lovers met informally at restaurants to share pet grooming experiences, techniques and networked about business in general. They thought it would be a novel idea to share this information with others.

The coming together of those who felt more secure in their professional knowledge raised the industry standard with the formation of Professional Dog Groomers, later changed to Massachusetts Professional Dog Groomers (MAPDG). To incorporate our growing membership, our name was changed in 1990 to today's New England Pet Grooming Professionals (NEPGP), a nonprofit organization. The level of professionalism increased as people in the grooming community joined. Through their efforts, NEPGP currently host an internationally recognized grooming seminar and competition each November.

Our core values, development of our craft, pursuit of excellence including grooming to breed profile, environment that cultivates the best in each of our members has put us "light years ahead" of the industry. Continued education and Camaraderie are still top priority today. We welcome anyone in to share in this pursuit.

We are committed to the ongoing development of our shared body of knowledge. We encourage individual members to utilize what we offer as they ascend in their career.
