This listserver is for the purpose of discussion of birds of prey, their natural history, research, banding, migration monitoring, and related topics. This listserver has been formed in direct response to a lack of member services by the original BIRDHAWK listserver, which has refused to allow substantive conservation discussion, and which has attempted to silence members from conversing openly on listserver policy and on conservation-related topics. Members can approach raptor discussions from a professional perspective, or as admirers of these magnificent creatures who wish to share anecdotal or other information. The only requirement of contributors is that they avoid profanity, and be respectful when disagreeing with views of other members. Commercial advertising or any promotion of members' projects of financial self-interest will not be allowed on this listserver. So while free speech regarding raptors is the main purpose of this listserver, commercial speech is banned.
