This group is dedicated to alleviating the plight of individual urban feral pigeons.
It is the rescue and rehabilitation center for those who are seeking information in order to treat a pigeon or network with rehabilitators who can take the bird in for care.
If you have found a pigeon in distress (injured, orphaned, ill or lost), please post the basic information and read the basic instruction pages in this group's "Links" folder (the folder named "Found a Pigeon in Distress?"). Keep checking back for responses.
Please understand that this is an all-volunteer group. Also please understand that the City has no provision for pigeon care and that housing for recovering birds is very limited, so you may need to care for your rescue yourself, at least temporarily until more permanent arrangements can be made.
We thank you for being among the few who care enough about the difficult lives of these wonderful birds to have come here and joined us in trying to make a difference by helping a New York City Pigeon.

These overlapping groups represent a core of people involved with caring for individual pigeons in distress, and with changing society's attitudes and laws to reduce the abuse to which pigeons and other animals are so often subjected.
