Description
This is an area for owners of dogs afflicted with Granulomatous Meningoencephalitis, or GME. We share knowledge and give each other moral support. We are not veterinarians, but have gained knowledge through often extensive personal experience. If you've already searched the Internet for information about GME, you probably already know the reports in circulation are almost all pessimistic about the prospects for successful treatment. We're here to tell you they're inaccurate and outdated but still stubbornly remain in circulation, influencing even well-meaning vets' opinions about GME. The truth is that with new treatments you can learn about here, your dog has a real prospect of remission. Many of our pets are living relatively normal lives, far longer than these outdated and depressing reports would make you think were possible.
Hugo, one of group moderator Alex Eisemann's loved ones, was diagnosed with GME on January 10, 2005. After a roller coaster ride, Hugo finally passed away on July 22, 2007. Hugo's the proud one on the far right. Hugo would have died after only a year had it not been for the phenomenal treatment provided by Doctor Allen Sisson, a board certified veterinary neurologist at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, a facility of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, who reversed a year of ineffective treatment by renowned neurologists in the New York City area. He provides long-distance treatment to all who request his help, including members of this group for next to nothing. Once you join the group, you'll receive a comprehensive welcome message that gives crucial and life-saving information and full instructions on how to diagnose and treat GME immediately and how to contact Dr. Sisson to obtain the benefit of his incredible skill, knowledge and generosity. Joining results only in your receiving these instructions and posts from other members, nothing else.

Re: Jasper - JRT
Phil, Curious, how much did you see it improve once in remission, was that after Mojo was off all meds? Gidget is at 80% but would love for her to get some

Mojo was totally blind at diagnosis of GME. He received 5mg twice daily of pred and his pupils reacted to light within days. He probably had permanent damage
