Hello fellow dog hikers,
As one of those dog people who takes my guy everywhere but is sometimes thwarted
by his size and breed (he's a scary "I'll kill you with tongue licking!"
Rottie), I'm always looking for dog-friendly events. Here's one up in Tahoe
over the 4th of July that I like so much I've volunteered to work it this year.
The 25th Annual I-CAN Run/Walk charity race is a fun community event which takes
place in Incline Village, Nevada (North Lake Tahoe) on the morning of July 4.
If you've been to Lake Tahoe, you know it is VERY dog friendly and the I-CAN is
no exception. Take your best friend along for a 5 or 10K walk or run along the
forest trail and safe on-road lake view route. It starts at 8 a.m., so my 10
you can be off to the famous Incline Pancake Breakfast, spend the day on the
water and enjoy the evening's fireworks. Plus the proceeds go to children's
charities and youth sports.
We've got a website (www.i-canrun.org), but all the great dog photos are on the
Facebook page I've created:

Brogan (my Rottie) is also a prominent guest star in my blog about getting in
shape for the race:

Hope to see some of your there!
