OpenArmsTransports serves as a means of communication for rescues and drivers involved in the weekly transports coordinated by Open Arms Pound Rescue. These transports generally originate in Kentucky or Ohio and terminate in Ontario, Quebec, or upstate New York, crossing into Canada either from the Detroit area or from Buffalo.

This list is strictly moderated, and posts not directly related to the runs of Open Arms Transports or not of general interest will be deleted; such posts would include, but are not limited to, posting of runs not coordinated by Open Arms Transports; cross-posts for pound dogs in need; requests for home visits, and so on. Please do not post offers to drive; those should be e-mailed directly to me. Examples of appropriate posts would include discussions of possible changes to meeting places, general post-run comments, and so on. Participants are encouraged to post their reflections on their transports to the list. Photos taken during the run can be uploaded to the Photos section.

Because of the confidential nature of the information contained in this group's files and databases, members must NOT forward anything from this group. Transports will be publicly posted on other groups--CBDR, CdnDogRescueTransport, OnTheRoadAgain, etc.--from which crossposts and forwards are most appreciated.

Applicants for membership will be screened, and references checked. Once approved, members are asked to post their driver information in the database. Please keep this information current so that it may be reliably used for the creation of final run sheets.
