This list is a forum for the members of the Parrot Association of Canada (PAC) and is open only to members.
It is a way for members throughout Canada to keep in touch with what is happening in the organization and in the Canadian parrot-related environment.
There are several areas of current or future concern and endeavour for PAC. At this time, the executive considers the most critical of these to be the implementation of the MAP program (Model Aviculture Program), and the enlightenment of polititians to prevent anti-parrot-keeping legislation at the municipal level.
What is MAP? Briefly, the idea is to provide acceptable standards at the breeder level for the keeping and rearing of parrots.

The MAP program, and the organization running it, PAC, are the chief weapons we have in our battle against ignorance, which can rear its ugly head in the form of bad legislation, such as the total banning of bird-keeping in a community, and similar absurdities. So this list can be immensely useful in keeping the membership informed of potential threats to our right to enjoy these wonderful and special feathered beings in our lives. Not only can we educate ourselves on better ways to keep our birds happy and healthy, but we can also assist each other in educating our polititians, which will help wipe out or prevent bad legislation, and in warning of proposed poor legislation before it becomes law. The internet is a wonderful communication device that can unite us as nothing else can. Let's use it to our best advantage. United we stand....
