Third National Feral Cat Day
http://www.alleycat.org
Date: Thursday, October 16, 2003
Time: All Day

Alley Cat Allies established National Feral Cat Day to provide one
special day each year on which thousands of compassionate, motivated
people across the U.S. can rally support for nonlethal Trap-Neuter-
Return (TNR), the only effective way to reduce the numbers of feral
cats.

The goal of NFCD can be summed up in one word: education. The only
way to make TNR the preferred method of feral cat population
control everywhere is to educate the people who develop and
administer policies that affect the lives (and deaths) of feral cats.
These people are animal control officers, environmental managers,
veterinary professionals, health department officials, police,
government officials, and the ordinary residents of every community.

To reach this end, Alley Cat Allies distributes NFCD Action Packs
free to all groups and individuals who want to stage NFCD events.
Action Packs are filled with information to help you conduct events
of many types, from food drives to spay days. NFCD Action
Packs also offer important tips on how to get vital publicity for
your efforts.

To view the ads, go to http://www.alleycat.org. To
request an ad file, send a message to alleycat @alleycat.org.

Please join with ACA this year to spread the
message of nonlethal population control. Get the word out about
National Feral Cat Day! Every mind we change, every community we help
to implement TNR, is a victory for feral cats and animals
everywhere.

Last Chance Ranch (LCR) rescues equines, including unwanted and
mistreated horses. LCR is a volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue
supported by fundraisers and donations.
Join us to meet all of our horses and tour the property, while taking
in all the sights and sounds of the fair. You can enjoy the music of
Cat Country 96.1 FM who will be broadcasting LIVE, while you try to
ride the mechanical bull…prizes to be given to the best riders! We
will have Peter Fuller giving Horsemanship clinics, so you may learn
how to deal with some of your horse's people issues. We will also
have over 35 vendors selling their goods (both horse and non horse
related items), a concession stand, pony rides, clowns and face
painting for the kids, and much, much more! Stay tuned to our web
site for additional Vendor Fair/ Open House information. If you have
any questions or would like to be a vendor or sponsor, please contact
Amy or Lori at (215) 538-2510. See you at the Fair!!!!

Thanks to everyone for your ongoing support of our efforts to help
horses in need. Your donations, everything from $5 to $500, have
helped to make a difference. It all adds up. After seeing our Animal
Planet story we had two girls from Florida send us $12.80, a pony
club from California had a fundraiser for LCR and a young man gave
up his birthday presents, asking for donations to the ranch instead,
adding to a total of $732.00. And many more like these.
