This group is for Rescue Animal TRANSPORT COORDINATORS ONLY. It's a place where coordinators can discuss issues specific to coordinators and share resources and experiences, so we can learn from and help each other, inevitably benefitting those precious rescued souls that we’re transporting.
POSTINGS OF RUN SHEETS ARE NOT ALLOWED AND WILL BE DELETED!! NO EXCEPTIONS!! If you’re having difficulty filling certain areas, you're welcome to ask for assistance with contacts pertaining to that area.
If you know of a responsible Transport Coordinator that's not a member of this group, please send them a link. The more members we have, the more our resources will grow.
ODE TO A TRANSPORT COORDINATOR
by Sara Haddon
Quick go get it, get me my map
The one that shows where the exits are at
I got an urgent, a final plea
A dog needs to move ASAP!
Ill get the legs, all lined in a row
Post the trans, all over ya know
Ill beg and plead, and bribe indeed
We have a critter with a major need
The puter crashes, I start from scratch
Dang I should have hit “save all”, drats!
So once again, I reboot
A baby needs help, no time for food
I get myself settled to announce my plight
Posting and writing, far into the night
Crosspost please - who do you know?
I have to move Lucky, this weekend ya know
The trans is filled
My drivers alert
Wait, what, a snow storm alert?
I pray, I wager, I hold my breath
That the nor’easter swings more to the left
Amed with keys, cell phone too
Run sheet printed, coffee to boot
I jump in my van, and roll down the road
Knowing my work, may be never known
But when the email comes to tell me his fate
Lucky has made it, and not too late
The rescue adores him, will take fine care
Of the cargo we moved from here to there
So you see, we all give, maybe not known to all
With a map, a computer and a heart of gold
Our job you see, is to move the dog
With wings of fate and a wink from God
