Hurricane Ike Relief Fund

The vector control community has watched with intense interest and  sympathy the devastation Hurricane Ike recently visited  upon the Texas coast and areas far inland. We should never forget that  the mosquito control workers in those areas, like those in areas affected by  Hurricane Katrina, have suffered extensive property losses as well -  and they need our help to put their lives back together. The AMCA has been  corresponding with members in the affected areas and is cooperating  with the Texas Mosquito Control Association in the establishment of a  Hurricane Relief Fund, managed by the TMCA. This fund will be  specifically earmarked to help mosquito control employees who have suffered  losses as a result of Hurricane Ike. Please send checks to:

Hurricane Relief Fund
Texas Mosquito Control Association
Box  906
Hewitt, TX 76643

The TMCA will identify needs and distribute  funds accordingly. We cannot overemphasize the importance of  contributing to your fellow vector control workers in this time of need.  Many have lost their homes and means of
transportation, yet continue  to provide disaster relief assitance to others in support of their  public health mission.

Please help!!! It's what families do.
