Ponies and/or short horses are NOT just for kids,
ponies are for adults too !! Just because a person has reached a specific age, does not mean they instantly lose the magic of riding ponies.
A good many adults don't ride ponies because they feel they would look funny or that the pony is not strong enough to carry them. Any vet will tell you that because of the solid bone structure in the pony's legs and feet, inch for inch, the pony is more capable for carrying weight than the horse.
Sometimes adults will overmount themselves on horses. We don't expect a child to be capable of controlling a large horse, so why should the an adult expect that because of their age, they belong on a horse rather than a pony?
Ponies are for riders happier on a compact, sturdy, short animal. Ponies can help riders regain their confidence in riding, to be able to continue enjoying a favorite sport, that can be an important psychological need for the adult rider.
In today's market, the pony is often the best buy. With their sturdiness and lower metabolism, strong feet, longer lifespan, and yes, good temperaments, the pony is a far better investment for the adult rider as well as for the child.

Many seniors have set the example: "You Never Outgrow a Pony!"
