The PuRRS list is for rescuers of purebred cats. When we rescue them from shelters, we make more room for domestic cats.

Potential adopters are WELCOME!

Rescuers, PLEASE send us updates about cats you have available! Transport coordination, listing of cats in shelters that need pulled, discussions of shelter management, fund-raising techniques and ideas, volunteer recruitment and management, and rescue-related subjects are all welcome!

List Rules:

Please keep your messages ON SUBJECT. This is a cat BREED rescue list. No domestics (there are many other lists for them) and no dogs!

No discussions of general animal welfare and animal rights issues. There are many other lists for these needs. No "Breeder bashing" (blaming breeders for filling shelters, etc). Many of our rescuers are breeders. No "flames"! No spam, INCLUDING REQUESTS FOR DONATIONS!

No use of the list to "downsize a cattery" without pre-approval! Personal cats may not be offered for adoption without pre-approval. No inquiries about breeding or finding homes for unsold kittens or cats. Breeders with personal problems may obtain strictly confidential assistance from our list owner. Cat owners who are seeking a rescue to help them may post here ONCE, but all discussion must be taken off list.

Posts about bad adopters MAY NOT CONTAIN THE FULL NAME OF THE ADOPTER!!! This is a liability problem. Please describe the adopter by first name, location, etc. An exception to this is CONVICTED animal abuse.

No discussion of legal problems between two or more rescues or shelters - again, due to liability issues.

Posts in violation will be removed. Violations may result in: a warning, a request for a public apology to the list, moderation of posts for a period of time, or ban from the list.
