Dear RPW group,

There have been positive comments from several experts
concerning the mite vector idea sent to this list on 20.3. They are
all in northern countries not affected by the weevil, however, and
were contacted individually. The response from the group most of
whose members are, presumably, in infested areas has, conversely,
been disappointing. Is (almost) everyone content with synthetic poisons?

The single interesting and informative reply from came from
Muhammad Shamseldean in Egypt. But messages to his hotmail e-address
have elicited no response. If anyone can provide an alternative
contact, I would be grateful.
