Hi Angela,
Sorry to hear about your situation. I can completely understand.
About 1 year ago we moved back to Canada from the Chinese mainland. We could not
bear the thought of leaving our 2 year BiBi behind, especially since she was a
rescue to start with. We tried every way to find a suitable home but did not
feel anyone could provide her with even 10% the same life she had with us.
And yes at one pint we even contemplated putting her down.

Too make a very long story short we were able to bribe one Border official
(fortunately bribery worked out in our favor for once!) and we got the necessary
papers (rabbits are not officially pets here and only dogs/cats can be exported)
and were able to bring her with us.
They say BiBi is the first pet rabbit exported out of China!
She is now a very happy Canadian bun,

Sincerely wish you luck in finding a good home Samy,

Rob

Thank you Lyn

We are in Wellington. I joined the Australian group now and hope something will
come up for my Samy boy.
He looks at me with his bog brown eyes everyday like he knows something is up.
I cuddle him even more now and that's probably suspicious as well.
I have never ever heard about a Rabbit Council. What's that?

Your Toby sounds a little bit like Samy. Samy has a two storey cage as well but
we only used it when his bunny sitter came over whilst we were on Holiday.
I asked her as well if she wants to take Samy but she is renting and is not
allowed too have pets.

I wish my problem would be solved already.

Thank you for your answer.

We can't take Samy because we don't go to Europe directly. We have two weeks in
the USA, 3 months in Vienna and then we move to Romania.
Not much fun for a bunny.

Cheers,
Angela

Hi Angela
Where in NZ do you live? You could join the P & A (pets & animals)
community chat group on Trade Me...either start your own or look in rabbit
lovers thread & ask there. Or Join the NZRabbit yahoo group.....& put this
message there (or I will do that for you (cross post) if you want me to or
the NZ Rabbit council...there may be someone there who would like a house
bun, one never knows & its definitely worth a try.
Just a bit curious when you say its getting cold here as we are going into
Summer now so its getting warm so now thinking ice bottles & flies...
How does he get on with other animals? Unfortunately he couldn't live with
me as our two house buns have been relegated to living in their cages a lot
of the time as can only have them out under supervision as don't really
trust the dogs completely & if they get outside into the paddock there is a
neighbours predatory cat who kills rabbits.....we used to have Sylvia who
was very predatory (with baby bunnies)but left older rabbits alone &
concentrated on rats & mice but she died at 21 & then Hobbes who kept
visiting cats away also passed away (19) leaving the way open for others :(
Toby our 6year old lop (who adores children cats & dogs) likes to explore
outside & goes through the cat door & he is spoilt & has a two storey hutch
on the deck & Snowdrop has a smaller one that is bought inside each night.
Our other rabbits however are outside & as you say your Samy would not
probably adapt to that.
Regards
Lyn

We have a 5 year old dutch dwarf bunny called Samy.
WWe live in New Zealand but have to move to Europe on December. #months in
Austria and then we move further east for 4 years.
What to do with Samy, nobody wants to take him.
I love Samy so much and it hurts me that I can't leave here knowing he will
be alright.

We are thinking now to go to the vet for THE injection to give Samy and me
peace.

Samy lives indoors and he is toilet trained but he doesn't like strangers,
specially children.
He attacks every visitor.
People here think it is disgusting having a bunny run around the house and a
rabbit should be outside. I am sure he would not survive that, it;s getting
cold here.

Can someone help me? I know nobody will tell me my plans are alright but
maybe you have better ideas what to do with my little friend.
It's so upsetting.

Angela
