No, the pup did get vaccinated but I made sure that they be on the lookout
for a reaction and be prepared. If I could have postponed the surgery, I
would have, but this pup is going to a new home in a month and I didn't want
to send her to her new home with an unrepaired umbilical hernia. It wasn't
anything critical, but you know pet puppy people, they get freaked out about
these things. Normally, I would have suggest that they have it repaired
when they have the pup spayed, but since this is a third party buyer (a
referral by a breeder through a friend of mine who is also a breeder) and I
will not be talking with the buyers face to face, this was the best way.
Luckily, I don't have too many of these happening in my litters.
