another gal from the southern part of the state. So that's 3 of us now that I
know of in Wisconsin. This is great. Maybe we will meet someday.

Hi,
I just subscribed. I am in Chesapeake Virginia. I am 3 miles from North Carolina
on the eastern side. I can do transporting from Richmond down into North
Carolina. I have recently moved down here, so I am not too familiar with areas
outside the tidewater area, but I have friends I can ask and also a map. I am
involved with Basset Rescue of Tidewater. I own 2 bassets and 2 PBGVs.

Sandy - I am usually available to help on weekends, sometimes a

I - 70, at least I assume that is the way the run will go. Let me know.
Oh - how big is Jasper and does he ride in a crate OK?

Hi,
We have a springer, Jasper, who is not working out in his new home. We need
to move him to foster care. His potential foster home is in St Louis, MO.
The earliest that she can take him is after Feb 23. We need to transport
him from Plymouth Mass, to St Louis, MO. I believe the route will go
through Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana,
Illinois, to St louis, MO.
We will be putting in a boarding kennel this week where he will have to stay
till we can get him transported.
If anyone can help with any part of this transport (or is flying in this
direction) please let me know.
Thanks,
Sandy

Hi guys,
This is Lisa, you list moderator. First I want to thank all of you who have
joined this list in an effort to help the rescue dogs get where they need to
be. If we all network we can make a difference!
Second, I need help in PA with a Coonhound transport. This boy is in a
shelter in Hermitage, PA. I have someone willing to get him out who is in
Beaver Falls and someone willing to foster him in Thompsontown. What I need
is someone to meet the person willing to get him out and drive him to the
person willing to foster him. Both of my contacts are willing to drive part
way, just don't have the time to drive all the way do to job time
restrictions. We would like to set this up to happen tomorrow
afternoon/evening. If anyone out there can help with this either tomorrow or
the next day, please e-mail me privately RescueADog@.... Thanks.
Again, thank you all for signing up!
Lisa, your list moderator :-)
I agree - this is a wonderful idea!
I work independently in Great Dane rescue in Southwest
Louisiana. I
am available to help with transport of any dog of any size in the Texas,
LA, Arkansas, and Mississippi region.

Hi list,
Just joined the list and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Kim
Dunning, I am an independent rescuer of Border Collies in Tulsa, OK. I have
two dogs of my own and two I am fostering. I haven't had to transport any of
the dogs I have placed yet. they all went to homes fairly close. I am willing
to transport through Oklahoma and into any of the surrounding states. I can't
transport on Wednesday or Thursday, because Wed. my car is with my husband in
Dallas and Thursday I deliver papers in NW Arkansas. If I can help in
arranging a transport in this area, please let me know.

Hi,
I am on the Adopt-A-Dog list and have found the need to seek
transportation services to help get rescue dogs to foster or permanent
homes.
My name is Tracey. I live in Southern California. I currently have one
foster dog. He is a handful and more like having a couple dogs! I also
have a GS, a couple little black rescue kitties, a 3 1/2 foot rescue
iguana, and other miscellaneous reptiles and amphibians. It is quite a
houseful.
At the moment I don't have time, money or space for anymore so I am
trying to help coordinate transportation. I am planning to volunteer to
transport myself when I can, too.
I am an absolute 'newbie' to resecue transporation. What forms of
transportation are usually used? Which work best for the animals?

Hi to a couple names I recognize like Christine Frank.
I do mostly Border Collie rescue but like tomorrow I'll be flying to Denver
so am taking a Yorkie-Poo to Chicago to one of our foster people so she can
drive it around the lake to Kalamazoo to a new home. I hope the transport
services on this list expand.
Next week I'll be driving down to Morrison, IL to get two BC rescue puppies
to take on a plane to Orlando. They will become seizure alert dogs.
I fly a lot in my job and can take dogs on planes sometimes so keep that in
mind. I'll post where I'm flying and I always use O'Hare airport.

I wanted to share this warning with everyone!!! Lois
This is a pic of my new rescue Dal, Fannie. Here she is with Lois &
Frank. Lois did the second leg of the trip & this was her first
rescue run. Frank has done a few runs & Fannie spent the night at his
house & today is getting a ride with a private plane pilot to Wisconsin.
She will be in MN til the 18th, when she flies to Seattle. I am so
excited..this was the first pic I had seen of her.
Now, the scary story...and PLEASE let anyone in rescue
transportation know about this. It is so important to know!
During this exchange, a trucker approached and asked about Fannie.
He wanted to know where she was going (his truck was from somewhere
in Wash. state.) and to whom...it just so happened that he said he was
from my town, and that my town was only made up of 2000 people (true,
but we are on I-90 and any trucker could know that.) and HE KNEW ME,
knew my parents, etc, and he would take her and deliver her to me! (How
very tempting..to get my Fannie to me so much sooner!)
This was LIES!!!! He does NOT know me, and my parents have never
set foot in WA state...LIES, LIES, LIES!
This is the kind of scam that Chris De Rose of Last Chance for Animals
spoke of when he was on the Leeza show...People will steal a dog, or
even take note of ads and flyers, call from across the country, and tell
the owner they will ship the "found" dog for $500...and you will never
see the dog or the money again. This is so terrifying that this Dal was
so close to a scam like this..I have already had one precious Dalmatian
stolen, and here...I think Fannie was close to that as well..and I
haven't even met her yet.
For anyone who may not know Dulcie's story, it can be found at
http://www.eburg.com/~dalmatia/dulcie.html

PLEASE..please make people who do rescue aware of this. Pet Theft
Awareness Day is Feb. 14...Pet Theft Awareness is one of my passions in
life..I have experienced the heartbreak for over 22 months with Dulcie's
disappearance, and I want everyone to be aware of how quickly it can
happen..and that there are people who will steal your dog right out from
under your nose. Please pass this story on to anyone you know, any pet
transportation lists or bulletin boards.
And thank you, Frank and Lois, for keeping to the plan and NOT falling
for this scamming truck driver! Lisa Messmer dalmatia@...

Hi. I am Melissa, and I am owned by a bluetick hound, Tess. I live in New
Hampshire and would love to help anyone that I can in the NH / Southern Maine
area.
I'm Marsha and located in central West Virginia. We have two lhasa
of our own and are active in rescue and also in helping evaluate/train dogs
for work as emotional support service animals.
We can handle transport of most anything except the giant breeds and I have
to say sorry on cats as I'm highly allergic to them.
Give me a yip if you need help.
