Description

Ring-tested Obedience: a competitive obedience list for handlers who want to discuss training methods, ask questions, answer questions, promote the sport, continue their education, and mentor other handlers.

Ring-tested Obedience isn’t just another email list on competitive obedience. It’s an attempt to use the Internet as the valuable learning tool it should be. This list is designed to have a high level of credibility. Its purpose is to share information and to mentor exhibitors. Our goal on this list is to grow the sport of competitive obedience by sharing ring-tested methods for success. To help achieve this goal there will be some rules that everyone must live by.

1. Anyone currently training a dog for competition obedience and all AKC Obedience Judges are welcome to join.

2. To answer any training/trialing question you must have earned at least the same title level the asker is pursuing. (For example: please don't answer a retrieve question if you haven’t earned a CDX title or above.)

3. Any fix/method offered must have been successfully ring tested. All training methods are welcome provided they have been proven to work.

4. The proof is in the credentials so: every post must be signed with at least your first name followed by the highest level AKC title you've achieved. (For example: Linda (OTCH) or Linda (New to sport)). You're welcome to add your location and email address if you wish. This is a list that respects the achievement of its members!

5. Acceptable topics include anything related to competitive obedience. The only stupid question is the one you don’t ask.

6. Because RTO is designed to be a highly valuable resource, all posts sent to the list should be of value to our members. Please refrain from sending any “me too” posts, or one line responses.

7. I encourage everyone to speak freely so expect discussion to be lively.
