Well I just couldn't resist!  One of my good neighbors died of cancer about a year ago.  He had 2 horses, a Tennessee Walker Mare, and a Quarter Horse stallion.  My other neighbor, who had moved away 2 years ago, to the next town south, ended up with the stallion.  He already had two mare, grade or just unregistered Quarter Horses.  He stopped by last week and offered me his horses for $100 per.  I thought he was talking about the TWH mare, so I told him I wanted her.  My 1/2 Andalusian/Iberian Warmblood stallion is 1/4 TWH.  I thought that she would make a good wife for him, as they likely would produce racking horses, which are very popular here in the midwestern USA.  (I personally prefer a walk/trot horse)   The racking horses, or "gaited" as they refer to them have more "saleability" because you don't have to be a "great" rider to ride them, (in comparison).  I have seen some absolutely HORRID horsemanship down here.  But these "gaited" horses don't (or are not supposed to) trot, so no posting, they are very smooth, and have a nice smooth gait, about 8 to 10 mph.  So if the horse is somewhat obedient, all one has to do is sit there.  Well I called him yesterday, as my trailer need attention, and is not road worthy, and had found my neighbor and her trailer.  Well thats when I found out that he did not have the TWH, he was talking about "his" mare.  I didn't want her, but the neighbor with the trailer did.   So off we went.    Well her trailer was too small, narrow for these tremendous obeise horses, so he hooked up his stock trailer.  Mean while I was looking at that stallion, and to my surprise, he was even gentler than my stallion!  I mean just a lovey pet he is!  Didn't act studdy at all.  Just a mellow fellow.  He is not registered but is out of a very "high dollar" mare.  He is quite beautiful (for a Quarter Horse!), very stocky.  About 15 hands, maybe a bit shorter, head not too "bulldogish".  He is a blue roan I think, or a very, very dark gray.  Neat coloration.  He is 3 or 4 years old, and is ridable.  For $100, how could I resist!  Of course I will resale him, or trade for a mare....TWH, preferably.  He is so sweet, it will be easy to get attached to him!  Well I had to share my find, that I need like a hole in the head!  I have 10 horses on my little 3 acres, including the filly foal, and a mare being bred to my Iberian stallion, and 2 in to train!  Makes me tired thinking about it!   Nina, in the Missouri Ozarks!
