Here’s a link that someone in my email group found. It is from February, 2008 and provides the drug protocols in Canada. You’ll note, they do not check for bute and they have printed much of the US rhetoric, including the AVMA guidelines!

 

This is a great statement – “The European Union (EU) and CFIA have no standards or requirements in place for drug withdrawal times in horses processed for food. The EU focuses on hormone contamination rather than drug residues.” This is on page 16 and contains several other statements assuming the owners are policing themselves – LOL!
