Dog death cop could be jailed
Jul 5 2009 by Jonny Greatrex, Sunday Mercury
A COP who left two of his force’s alsatians to die in a sweltering car faces a life ban from working with dogs - and could be jailed.
The animals perished when the experienced officer parked outside Nottinghamshire Police HQ as temperatures hit 30C.
If found guilty of animal cruelty the bobby could be jailed for up to six months and fined £20,000.
RSPCA chiefs have pledged there will be no cover-up as they investigate the canine deaths.
A spokesman for the charity said: “The same guidelines apply when it comes to prosecuting a police officer or a member of the public.”

violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.”

"The fate of animals is of greater importance to me
than the fear of appearing ridiculous;
it is indissolubly connected with the fate of men."
