Description
This is a public list for health and genetics related discussions about Samoyed and Samoyed-mix dogs. It is for anyone interested in Samoyed health issues--pet owners, breeders, rescuers, etc. This is a place where we can share experiences, ask questions, and hopefully get some useful information. Discuss anything from bloat and autoimmune problems to albinism and dwarfism. How do vaccines affect your dog? How might diet help or hurt? How could health affect behavior? Any health topic is open for discussion.
Information from this list will be archived. We would also like to share information from this list with the Samoyed Club of America Research and Education Foundation (SCARF), so members may occasionally be contacted for permission to share the content of their emails with SCARF.
Please Note: The members of this list are NOT veterinarians, animal health professionals, or behaviorists. Any ideas, suggestions, stories, information, anecdotes, etc. are provided by individuals based on their personal experiences, and are not recommendations for how to care for your pet. Input from this list should not be used as a substitute for taking your dog to a veterinarian. Please, if you are concerned about your dog's health or behavior, be sure to see a licensed veterinarian for the problem.

Re: Foster Captain
Joan: I can't say that Captain is a Velcro dog, but he watches me pretty closely. I always have the collar on him too, but I feel it makes him more stressed.
