Description

Welcome to SilverPets

We are a community of animal lovers devoted to using medicinal silver in conjunction with other alternative and standard approaches to keeping our pets healthy and happy.

NOTE: The FDA considers colloidal/ionic silver an unclassified drug, and does not approve its use for medicinal purposes for humans or our pets. For an in depth look at this subject go to: http://www.silvermedicine.org/fda.html

When used here, the terms “silver” and “medicinal silver” refer to electrically isolated silver (EIS), often referred to by the catchall name, colloidal silver. As simply stated as possible, EIS is a solution of distilled water and silver ions with a small component (usually 10% or less) of particulate silver as a suspended colloid. EIS is the broadest spectrum antimicrobial available. It kills all known bacteria as well as viruses and many fungi.

The term “pets” as used here is intended to cover all domestically kept animals. Our members have many species of pets ranging from dogs and cats to rabbits, goats, fish, birds, mice, horses, and amphibians.

We are always looking for members with “exotic” pets as well as dogs and cats to help us to help one another in understanding the use of medicinal silver in caring for the various species.

While silver can be used to help maintain the health and wellbeing of virtually all species, there are definite differences in the way silver can and should be incorporated into the care regimen, depending on the species involved. That which is good for one is definitely not good for all.

The sole purpose of this list is to share information and personal experience, for the betterment of our pets' health and wellbeing. We hope you decide to subscribe to SilverPets and become a part of our community. Your pets will thank you.
