or, A Tail (sic) of Two Swallowtails...

On 7/9/09 Bob Behrstock had a male in Ash Canyon which subsequently disappeared.

On 7/11/09 Judy Winslow and I had a male in Patagonia.

These sightings were two days and about 30 miles apart.

One might wonder if they were possibly one and the same butterfly.

Except that photos show that the Ash Canyon butterfly was missing its left tail,
and the Patagonia insect had both tails.

So, two butterflies. Pretty neat.

John, Same thing happened last year. Someone had one in great shape at Bog Hole and then I had an absolute rag at the Patagonia Butterfly Garden a few days ...
