South Coast Newfs

South Coast Newfs is a group of Newfoundland dog owners from South Eastern MA. and RI that practice Water Rescue (spring/summer), Draft Work (fall/winter), and Obedience and Rally weekly.
In addition to our training, the South Coast Newfs Yahoo Group is a place to discuss topics related to our Newfoundlands.

Newfoundland Working Dog Activities
Historically, the Newfoundland functioned as a working companion to humans in draft and water rescue work. To help preserve these traditions, the NCA water tests and draft tests were designed. Each exercise demonstrates the natural abilities and the skills of the Newfoundland dog in water work and rescue situations as well as with carting and draft work.
South Coast Newfs meets to practice these techniques.
