Ovcharka Dog Breeds Network: SOUTH RUSSIAN OVCHARKA: The
Monster or the Myth?

Recently our family adopted a Great Pyranees/South Russian
Ovtcharka mix puppy. He is 12 weeks old and the sweetest
puppy. We have a 7 year old black lab too. He looks more
lika a fawn colored pyranees and does not have a "sheep dog"
look. Actually he looks like a very big golden retriever. He
weighs about 25-28 pounds and I was wondering if anyone can
tell me it that is a normal size. We got him from a resue
group and he was a little sick when we first got him. He is
adorable and my family is really loving with him (we also
treat Mollie, our black lab with lots of affection because
she puts up with the new pupplie's sharp teeth and "puppy
play". My brother is very concerned because of the Ovtcharka
reputation but we are doing lots of socializing with people
and other dogs and so far everything is great. I would love
to hear what others have to say. Thanks.
