QUICK STEPS TO HELP A DOMESTIC OR WILD BIRD IN AN EMERGENCY...

1) Isolate bird in dark, quiet cage and keep animal immobile. Keep the cage warm; heating pads underneath work very well (put towel over pad and place under small cage or tank).
2) If cause of illness is known, gather samples. In the U.S., contact the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center for help: 1- 888- 426- 4435
3) Contact avian veterinarian IMMEDIATELY. Don't wait--valuable minutes could cost a bird its life! If assisting an ill or injured wild bird, check with your local government wildlife departments for licensed avian wildlife rehabilitator
