The Sumner Foundation aims at raising awareness of hemangiosarcoma (a very deadly cancer in dogs, mainly Goldens and German Shepherds, which generally isn't diagnosed until the dog collapses or dies), as well as finding a cure or a way or giving dogs a fighting chance. This sort of cancer is genetic, hereditary. it runs in bloodlines. My Golden, Sumner had just turned 9 when he collapsed, he showed no signs of being ill, and the doctors didn't know what was wrong. We were lucky and he hung on for 9 days after the initial collapse. We found out after that he died of hemangiosarcoma. I vowed to fight back against this disease and this group is a part of that fight. Please, if you are a dog lover, or have lost a dog to this disease, please join us. This group will provide support, love and understanding of those who have had this disease rip their beloved pets away from them. Come, and feel supported by friends, and people who understand, and join us in our fight. We will not allow our furbabies to have died in vain. We will fight.
