The Vancouver Island Berner Walk currently meets the first Sunday of every month at Beaver Lake and every Thursday at either A) the Cobble Hill dog park (to walk up the mountain) or B) Cherry Point Beach - check posts for advice on the tide tables, as we can only walk on the beach if the tide is out. Or email Lisbeth for advice.

We meet at 11:00 am and usually walk for about an hour or two. Afterwards, those who so wish may bring a hot drink, snack and a chair and enjoy an informal picnic.

If you have a Bernese Mountain Dog and you would like to join our Walks, please join our group or just turn up one day! You are also welcome if you are looking to find a Bernese Mountain Dog to join your family and you just need a "berner fix", or if you would like advice about finding a good breeder.

ALL Bernese Mountain Dogs are welcome on our walks for some informal fun and exercise. You do not need to be a member of any dog club to come along. Family members of other breeds are also welcome. However, aggressive dogs (or people!) will have to be asked to not participate in the Walk.

Please scoop the poop and observe the park rules. Please also be aware of the feelings of the other dogs and people on the Walk, and call your dog off if his/her attentions become overwhelming for the other dog (or person). Not all dogs (or people!) are totally comfortable in all social situations and some may participate in our Walk for that very reason - socialization.

Everyone participates in the Vancouver Island Berner Walk at their own risk and is responsible for the actions of themselves and their dogs.

The Vancouver Island Berner Walk has been sanctioned by the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Canada www.bmdcc.ca
