Welcome to the Volhard Nutrition List.

This group was created as a way discuss the Volhard Nutritional Philosophy as set out in Wendy Volhard's book "Holistic Guide for a Healthy Dog." It also provides follow-up help and support for those who have attended seminars and camps, including the Healthy Dog Conference.

If you are a general student of dog nutrition, please bear in mind that The Holistic Guide for a Healthy Dog (HGHD) is the starting point for all conversations on this list, so please familiarize yourself with the book. This list was also created as a way for people who feed according to the Volhard Philosophy (i.e. either the Volhard Natural Diet, the Natural Diet Foundation, NDF2 or Supplemented Kibble) to support each other. In this way we may continue on the road to learning about how to care for our dogs.

It should be noted that we do not discuss other diets as it is not our area of expertise, nor do we desire to get embattled in comparing or contrasting other modes of feeding. The Internet has many such groups and we encourage you to research them for that type of information.
