Description

This mailing list is for discussion of birds and birding in the English county of The West Midlands, especially notable sightings and site reports, and the activities there, of the West Midland Bird Club (WMBC):

http://www.westmidlandbirdclub.com/

Anyone is welcome to join the list, whether a member of the WMBC or not, although it is hoped that all birders with an interest in the county will join the Club.

Please bear in mind that claims posted to this list are unverified; they have not been reviewed by the County Recorder, nor the British Birds Rarities Committee.

Sightings reported on this list should also be reported to the County Recorder in the usual manner - see the Club's website for guidelines.

Do not reveal the whereabouts of rare breeding birds, whose eggs are at risk from illegal collectors.

Advertising of bird- related items by individuals or conservation bodies is permitted. Commercial and all other advertising is not.

Mails sent via the list will include short advertisements inserted by the list's host, Yahoo. These are in no way endorsed by the WMBC.

Please consider this a "family friendly" forum and moderate your language and tone accordingly. Thank you. The list is operated on behalf of the WMBC, but content of individual posts remain the responsibility of their authors.

If you join, your address will not be used for any other purpose. The WMBC reserves the right to transfer the list, and your address, to a new host in future, but you will be notified if this happens.
