This group is for posting and publicizing pets in need of rescue or adoption in the state of West Virginia only. All members are welcome to post individual dogs and cats available for adoption or lists of pets in need of rescue, provided those pets are located in West Virginia. All members may also post photos of their available pets in the Photos section if they wish.

For the time being, this group will not be moderated. However, members who do not adhere to the West Virginia only rule will be warned once, and unsubscribed if they do not comply. If you have any doubt about the suitability of your post, please contact the list owner for approval.

This week's featured pet is Ollie, a senior lab who was unceremoniously dumped off in the middle of the night at the Mason County Animal Shelter in Point Pleasant, WV. Ollie needs help, and he needs it fast! He has an old neck injury, which apparently bothers him because he snaps whenever anyone goes near his neck. The county will NOT allow the shelter to get treatment for him. The only way this dog will get the medical attention he needs is for a rescue to step forward and take him. Ollie has a sponsor who has covered part of the vet costs, so most of the fee is covered. All he really needs is a place to go. Please give Ollie a second chance!
