Subject: Dallas, NC_2 Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mixes, Chow-Chow (very sweet) & Plott Hound Terrier

The first week of March, Sarah pulled 2 Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Lab mixes, a very sweet Chow-Chow and a plott hound terrier mix MOMENTS before they would have been placed in the gas chamber at Gaston County Animal Control.  A group of very kind people donated money to vet and board these sweet pups. However, just one week of boarding for the 2 labs cost $140.00. Sarah has the chow and the plott hound at her house along with many other dogs. Sarah is now in a desperate situation because she cannot find rescue for any of these dogs nor can she afford any more boarding costs. There is no where for the labs to go and no way to pay for their boarding. She is reaching out for some help from the rescue community.

Here is what is needed: 

1) Rescue for the 2 Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Lab mixes ASAP or donations to help pay for their boarding. The only reason these 2 pups (under a year old) are at boarding is due to their lack of training with walking on leash. Sarah is a senior citizen and doesn't have the ability to handle these 2 labs so she decided it would be helpful to place them at Grateful Pets where they get play time in the exercise yard and where someone younger has the ability to handle them. Their owner dumped these beautiful boys at the gassing shelter with no concern for their future. Most likely he got them as puppies for his kids and never spent time with them. Thus, they suffer from an uncaring home. If anyone knows of reputable Chesapeake Bay Retriever or Labrador rescues, PLEASE forward this to them. We need all the help we can get with placing these 2 because boarding both of them per day is $20. No one has that kind of money to spend so rescue is direly needed.

2) Rescue/Adoption for the 1 year old black chow. This girl is so amazing. She is very dog friendly and people friendly as well. She passed her temperament test with flying colors and some to spare. A very well balanced and loving girl. Most chows don't do well in shelter situations but this sweet girl was amazing. She let Sarah touch her anywhere with no problems. She is lovely with other pets as well. This is the main reason Sarah couldn't let her die in the gas chamber. She is so wonderful and has a lot to offer any family. Very adoptable.

3) The Plott Hound/Terrier mix is extremely sweet. Very submissive as well. This pup truly deserves a home with a loving family. I don't know as much about this pup, but Sarah could provide more details.

Please help me get the word out on this dire situation. It's a terrible feeling to have dogs that need care/rescue/adoption and so few resources to obtain it. I guess this is what most would call an S.O.S. and those who know me know that I'm not dramatic by any sense of the word so hopefully, the seriousness of this situation will encourage the rescue community to rally help for these lovely souls.
