Judith and I put together this list in response to what we saw as a need for an open forum for those who love parrots, those who are experienced, and those who are just learning. Whether you have a budgie, a parrotlet, a macaw, a cockatoo, a lory, a conure, an amazon, a grey or one of each, you can find something of interest here.

If you all want a real parrot list, with people who talk about parrots (and occasionally go off topic like any group of friends having conversation) who will respect your email settings and not spam you with emails you didn't request, then join us.

Be warned, the list is not going to be moderated out the wazoo, so there may be occasional cursing, occasional heated discussions, and occasional disagreements, but we're all adults (or so we hope) so one would hope we can act like adults and police ourselves, rather than rely on heavy moderation to do the same. Please come on over and bring your sense of humor. All welcome to join, with few exceptions.

We have very few suggestions for the running of the list.
1) Please keep photos to under 100kbs for those members who are on dialup.
2) Please avoid usage of incredimail backgrounds/stationary.
3) Please okay any solicitations through one of the list owners before posting or forwarding to the list.
4) No Politics/Religion.
5) Do NOT send videos to the list as attachments. If you want to share a video, upload it to youtube or a similar site and then send the link.

Come join the fun. Hopefully we can make this list a fun and entertaining place where like minded individuals can share their knowledge, experience and ask questions without as much of the idiot factor. And if we do get idiots, well, we can all join in and throw tomatoes and other assorted rotten cyber-veggies at them ;)
