The Brittany world lost a great man this weekend.
David Powers of Montana passed away this weekend doing something he loved. David
was taken from this world by a heart attack while hunting in his beloved
Montana. David was very active in Brittany Rescue. He had a passion for
Brittanys as we all do.
Although I didn't know David well and we had never met in person we shared a
love for our dogs.
David you will be missed. I hope you know the impact you made on many lives,
both 2 and 4 legged. I can see you now your lap full of furry friends covering
your smiling face with wet Brittany kisses. Until we meet some day at the Bridge
watch over the loved ones we send to you.

We want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Prosperous and Safe
New Year! May you all have friends and family with you to share your Holiday.
May God Bless you all. Please keep our troops and their families in your
thoughts and prayers.
We will have a very White Christmas here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We
have over 2 feet of snow on the ground with another storm due in tonight through
Friday with up to 2 feet expected in some areas. This morning is cold -3 with a
wind chill of -25. So the Britt's (5 of them) are all snuggled up on the sofa
and recliner and sprawled out on the bed. They too are anticipating Santa's
arrival, they know he brings lots of puppy toys and chews.

We also have a couple of male pups available. They are 9 weeks old.
Sire is CH Millette's Major League of Tks, Dam is CH Dancing Across The
Sky. You can see our pups and parents at www.gundogbreeders.com at
Treasure Keepers. We are located in Southern Oregon. Our pups are
already microchipped, wormed, and vaccinated for age. They are really
awesome. For 13 puppies, they ALL did amazingly well. And while you are
looking us over at the website, read the testimonials written by our

Hi there I'm new here. I am the proud owner of a 3 1/2 month old
female Brittany. I'm new to the breed but not new to the
hunting/pointing breeds. I will start training her for pointing
rabbits and phesant or quial to be a hunting partner with my Falcons.
Are any of you out there that hunt with hawks/falcons? I will be
returning here for more questions regarding the breed and for tips. I
hope to get this club going again.

His wife Lisa and his friends and I are asking you today to please keep a
husband and very dear friend of ours, Mike Bruzzone in your thoughts and
prayers.
Many of you may know Mike, many of you may not. Mike is a Brittany lover,
breeder and at one time was a Hunt Test judge on the East Coast.
Mike's health hasn't been the best for some time. Mike is currently in the
hospital at Duke in NC. He had a pacemaker installed several weeks ago, however
his heart isn't holding up it's end of the bargain. On Monday May 26th Mike will
have surgery to install a pump to help his heart work. He will then be placed on
the Heart transplant waiting list.
Please keep Mike and his family in your thoughts and prayers, they need your
moral support. This is a very trying time for them.
Thank you.

It has been a bittersweet weekend for Sandra Leavens.
Her father died yesterday. He was 87 years old and had an aortic aneurysim and
died quickly when it rutured. She is headed home now. She got word late last
night.
Sandra's email addy is: ammos@.... If you want to send her any words
of condolences.
Her home snail mail addy is: Sandra Leavens, 259 Lasting Ridge, Ball Ground, Ga
30107 if you would like to send her a card.
The sweet part of the weekend is that the following get out of Pogo and Sandra's
bitches had the following placements this weekend.
Raven "Ammos Some Like It Hot" out of Ch Millette's Let the Games Begin (Pogo)
and DC Ammos Gone With The Wind (Breezy) won her first major on Thursday at 7
months by going WB (over 17 Bitches) and Best Puppy at the show on Thursday.
Today at the Ga Brittany Speciality Show Raven went BOS in the Sweepstakes.
Congratulations to Sandra and Gary Leavens who are the breeders and owners of
Raven.
Sonny now "Ch Ammo's Sunset Rose" (pending AKC approval) out of Ch. Millette's
Let The Games Begin (Pogo) and Ch. Ammo's Nearly Wild Rose went WB for a major
and finished her Show Championship at the Georgia Brittany Club Speciality
today. This is the 2nd Ch out of that litter and there are field pointed get
too. Sonny was only shown at Speciality shows and all her points were
Speciality Wins. Congratulations to Sandra Leavens and Emily Simmons who are
Sonny's owners. Sandra was also Sonny's breeder.
One of Pogo's daughters "Misty" who is out of the same
litter as Raven (Pogo ex Breezy)won the 6-9 puppy class (her sister Raven placed
2nd) at the Georgia Speciality today and Blu, "Ch Ammo's Bugle Boy" (Sonny's
littermate out of Pogo ex Breezy) who was the dual dog of the 2007 Central
Futurity made the cut in BOB. Congratulations to Jim and Patty McCarthy who own
Blu and Misty.
Rick and I are so proud of Pogo's get out of these two litters but we couldn't
have done it without Sandra's belief in Pogo and her hard work on her breeding
program. Of course it couldn't have been done across without her females, DC
Ammo's Gone With The Wind and Ch. Ammo's Nearly Wild Rose.
I am sorry but I have no more information on other placements and wins from the
weekend but I am sure Roger Hunter or someone will post them. I was unable to
attend this show because I have a broken back and awaiting surgery on April
24th. I am so sorry I missed everyone.
Sandra, please know that Rick's and my love, thoughts and prayers are with you
and your family during this difficult time.

The only thing I would like to add to Ken's post is that I don't know how we
would have survived without Ken Blackman! He came thru as always!!!!Ken's
father died about 1 1/2 weeks before the trial and he had to go home to New York
(?) to take care of arrangements for his funeral, reading of the will, etc. He
left New York Thursday morning before the trial and drove straight thru to
Memphis. I know he must have been exhausted by he still came thru like a
trooper taking care of the fine details that can only be taken care of by
someone in the area and making every participant feel more than welcome! I just
want to make sure Ken gets the credit he deserves!I want to also give a big
Thank You to Jim DeMarco, Dale Pool , JP Weber and Sam Norris who stepped up to
help out when they were needed. You all helped make the trial a big success!!!
With all the terrible weather all around us, we had great weather,
great field conditions and a terrific slate of dogs, handlers and
guests. Some of the locals came out and rode in the gallery. They were
treated to some dog work from breeds that some had never seen. GWP,
GSP, Irish and Gordon Setters, and of course, French Brittanys (and not
mine either). We'd like to thank the land owners, Bill and Alan Currie
for the thier committment to the sport of field trialing and Quail
Restoration. Several years ago they decided to put their 800 Ac, of
Dancyville, TN farmland into the CRP and CP33 program. We haven't seen
lots of reproduction yet, but with controlled burning and stip disking,
everyone agrees the ground work has been laid for an impressive
regeneration of a sustainable Bobwhite population. We are so fortunate
to share the gounds with the West TN and Fayetter Couty Field Trial
Clubs. While we had good quailty stock for our trial, during the prep
work to lay out the courses, my dogs found several wild coveys and they
were the real deal.
Our thanks also to our Judges who, without their time, effort and
dedication, we couldn't have had a trial at all. Steve Butler, Chip
Pantal, Charlie Baglan, Ken Blackman and Rick Crites did a bang up job. Nan
Crites,
Louise Brown, Richard Wiley and Sue Blackman, made sure the food was up
to our traditional standard and a HUGE THANKS to them all.
