Re: [arfandrunning] Cargo Trailer Update

Please remember everybody that we have NOT decided to buy a trailer.  We voted to look into the cost of trailers, different makes etc. so that we could make an educated decision (that would be another club vote) as to whether or not we move forward with this idea, and if so what are our needs and how much do we want to spend and all of that good stuff.

Lori, you did a tremendous amount of work on this.  Kudos to you!

Subject: Re: [arfandrunning] Cargo Trailer Update

i think the only thing that's in the by laws is that over a certain amount the club had to vote/approve, but i'm not sure on that.

i thought we might we able to buy both a trailer and some contact equipment if we could get a screaming deal on a trailer, but it looks like that won't happen. so i think it was stu who said we could probably buy a trailer now, have 1 more trial, then start getting equipment. can't swear to that though.

we can talk more about this at the meeting.

Lori, You have done a lot of good work on the trailer, and the
availability. Thanks for doing all that.

Seems the basic differences that we are interested in are the wheel
location, and the actual structural make up of the trailer itself. Like
you said we need the wheel on the outside, and not have the wheel well in
the trailer. Suspect the structural make up is about the same, or
possibly, varies with the price. What are the floors made of and all
will stand up to the loads we will put on them over time??
I guess I would not see hanging the dw or a frame on the walls, but might
have a rack to hold them against the wall and not just balanced there.
Might want to hang jumps on the wall, but would do it in small groups so
we could cut the weight down on each.
Seems that with the length of the dog walk we really do need a 14 foot
model. not much use having to shoe horn things in each time.
Will have to look and see if there is anything in the bylaws about how
much money we can spend at one time. We need to be aware of how much
money it takes do a trial up front, before the entries come in and the
like. we don't want this to come out of someone pocket.

Sorry i am late commenting. have been in SLC and am not getting to my
e-mails in a timely manner now that it is spring and I can be outside.

thanks again for all the leg work and information.
