This is the most serious request for help I have put out simply given the sheer numbers of dogs - 900 [that's hundred] - that need to find homes or they will be killed!
Action is needed quickly as the racetrack is closing in about six weeks.
If you know of anyone who might want a loving, easy-to-care-for dog, greyhounds known as 40-mile-per-hour couch potatoes - please send this notice out to them.
If you are involved in a rescue group, please cross-post this with other groups.
In all cases please contact:
Joanne Kehoe Operations Director
Phone: 312-559-0887 Or Dairyland Race Track Adoption Center direct at (262) 612-8256
Any help will be greatly appreciated, mainly by these doggies.

I have to agree with doug’s comment. The first weekend of November the marines had a toys for tots collection site up in the mall. Last year one of the local tv stations was a drop off point for an extended period of time before Christmas. If anyone caught the news last night, there was a short blurb about folks who used to be donators to the local food, now being recipients of those benefits. I think we have a lot of needy families locally.

Dangers of Dog Hair -
Urgent Notice: Potential Danger of Dog Hair.....
In a press release today, the National Institute of Health has announced the
discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in the hair of dogs. This
substance, called "amobacter caninii" has been linked with the following
symptoms in females: Reluctance to cook, clean or do housework, a reluctance
to wear make-up, good clothes or high heels heels. Reluctance to spend money
on home or car repairs until after 'Baby' has new collars, leashes, beds,
treats, food, blankets or toys.
"Amobacter caninii" usually results in long hours away from home and
exhaustion which may lead to a loss of physical contact with other humans
(especially husbands and boyfriends). "Amobacter caninii" is thought to be
addictive, driving the need for additional sources - this may lead to a

I have a housebound, elderly friend who needs a small lap dog to keep her company. She lives in a rural area away from traffic, has a fenced yard & has had dogs her entire life so is an experienced pet owner. Her animals have always been her "kids" so it would be a great home for a dog. The dog would have to be housebroken and an expert at sitting in a lap and being petted.
Please contact me for more information or if you know of a dog available with this MO
Sorry for the delay, but school's been keeping me busy. The pictures from the October trial in Helena are up on dogshots.biz.
Some of them, particularly on Saturday, are way overexposed and bright. If you like the picture but it's too bright, let me know Because of the format in which I take the pictures I can probably fix it. I did not fix any of them, because in the interests of time I wanted to get them posted.
Just let me know if you want to buy some pictures, but they are too bright. I will fix it before I send it out.
Again, if there is anyone you know that was at the trial but is not on this list, I'd appreciate if if you told them about the pictures being online.
Watch the next trial she judges for you - so much for Q's!!
:-)
Be sure to send the link to Sharon Nelson too - I think she likes to see her
judges having fun...

For those of you not on the NADAC Yahoo – or skipped
this one –
Per Sharon…
If the jumps have a solid "base" on them so that the jumps cannot
spread,
then you are correct, you only need to use one bar and the ground base
serves as the second bar.....
So we can double the number of jumps we have and don’t
need to get any more bars J
We're a little late in getting our thanks out to participants. Actually one of
members put the brag list in a very special place for safe keeping. We just
discovered it and listed below are the brags from the Arf and Running Trial here
in Helena.
Special thanks to all who participated in our trial and everyone for stepping in
and working, helping with set up and take down, and assisting just where ever
needed for the whole weekend which made the trial run very smoothly. We had
awesome weather for the weekend. We're also working on getting the surface
conditions of the arena improved for our next trial.
Thanks again to you all and we look forward to seeing you at the next trial.
