It all began with one tiny brun kit being born to champagne d'argent parents in 06'. Argente Bruns are a rare & endangered breed. The Bruns are better known in the U.S. as the silvered chocolate d'argent. Bruns are a beautiful variety of the d'argents but sometime in the near future we will seek to make them their own breed. D'argents come in (4) colors: Champagne, Blue, Creme & Brun. Due to the nature of the "chocolate coat of splendor" breeders are beginning to show a rekindled interest in the Brun. There is a major difference between the Bruns in Ontario & America vs. those in foreign countries...our Bruns are not 6 lbs. but rather 8.0- 10.0. & sometimes more. Vivienne, SouthWind's first doe to kindle U.S. bruns, weighed ten+pounds.

Ed White of Ontario, Canada created his first Brun kit in 06'.Since then he has been diligently working to improve the Bruns & breeds them to Dominion Breeders Association standard.

After visiting with Mr. White via telephone in April of 08', I then decided to help expand his work by relocating a few Bruns to America.

Some topics open for discussion are: promoting, breeding, showing, mentoring, health, maintenance, food,nutrition, rabbit husbandry,selecting breeding stock. I will be working toward my goal in getting the Bruns ARBA recognized as a new breed.
