We are the UKC (United Kennel Club) licensed National Parent club for the UKC Rat Terrier Breed. As the National/Parent club, we are working to promote & preserve our American bred working Terrier. ARTA was formed in August of 1997 to promote interest and attain breed recogniton for the Rat Terriers with United Kennel Club. In Jan. of 1999, the Rat Terrier became an official UKC recognized breed. Rat Terriers come in 2 sizes - miniature (under 13") and standard (over 13" up to 18")
