Have you trieed the Almo Nature, made in Italy, it is 100 % bio and seems to be allright and at least the dog will eat it. I don't know if you can get that in
I'm not a vet, although at times I play one at our kennel <grin>. We have gal that goes off her regular diet after whelping. Not good timing!! We tried
