Cat throwing up

I have a 6 1/2 year old spayed female cat that is throwing up.  She's an indoor
cat so she hasn't gotten into any contaiminants like anti-freeze.  She only has
access to her food, Science Diet Light.  I haven't changed the food.  Tuesday
night she hacked up a large hairball.  Sometime after I had gone to bed, she
threw up several times.  She has continued to throw up today.  Tonight I
discovered all the places she has thrown up.  It is the same color as her food,
an orangish-brownish.  Sometimes there was undigested pieces of food in it.  I'm
going to call the vet in the morning to get her in.  I'm just wondering what
some of the possibilities might be.  Could she have a hairball stuck that is
blocking the food from going down?  That seems to me to be the most likely just
because she had thrown up a hairball earlier.  Could she develop a food allergy
seemingly overnight?  I do have three other male neutered cats.  One cat goes
out for a
couple hours during the day.  The other two are indoors all the time.  They are
all current on all vaccines.

Jean
