during endoscopy air is often pumped in under some pressure to dilate the area and allow easier movement/vision: so physical damage and leakage into vessels=>...
yes moth balls are dangerous and we also dont use them in our house. i didnt even think people used them any more as you cant get the smell out of the blankets...
