The AustinRescue elist exists primarily to promote and aid the rescue and rehoming of pets from the Central Texas area, and to facilitate networking among local rescuers.

In order to maintain this focus, list membership is normally limited to residents of Texas, and posts about animals in need limited to Central Texas area animals. We do, however, welcome posts about senior and special needs dogs and cats from anywhere in Texas. Persons
most anywhere who are seeking a pet to adopt are also welcome to submit inquiries.

The list is lightly moderated with the moderators envisioning their role as "communication facilitator" rather than "traffic cop".
